The skills that are required of a legal practitioner working in the hospitality sector span a number of the more traditional legal disciplines, including real estate, corporate and commercial, employment, licensing, health and safety, IP/IT, tax and competition. The sale or purchase of a hotel, for example, will give rise to issues and concepts that are not generally found with assets such as offices and retail premises, including complex holding structures, management contracts and franchise agreements. CLT’s first Hospitality Law Conference provides practical insights into some of the key matters that arise in the lifecycle of a hospitality based asset.
The conference will be of interest to those working within the hospitality sector as a head of legal, general counsel or legal advisor, as well as to lawyers in private practice. With this in mind, the topics that will be covered go beyond the purely legal to look at how a legal advisor can add value to the business and be a commercial partner to the business.
