Conference Preparing for Change in the Civil Justice System 2017 Conference

Since 2013 the civil justice system in the UK has seen unprecedented changes to the systems and procedures underpinning the conduct of litigation.

The current reforms focus upon the introduction of a more ‘user friendly’ court environment with less emphasis on an aggressive approach to litigation. The impetus behind the reforms is the need to make better use of up-to-date technology and to drive down the cost of litigation whilst maintaining access to justice for all.

This conference is designed to keep those working in the field abreast of the developments, to make legal professionals aware of the changing arena in which they will be operating in the future, and to offer them the opportunity to raise questions of the experts available to answer them.

The agenda features experts at the forefront of the changes in the system, including:

  • Alexander Hutton QC, a leading figure in the development of the electronic bill of costs;
  • Professor Dominic Regan, presenting an update on latest cases; and
  • Clare Galloway from HMCTS, delivering our keynote address on the online court.
Whether you are a member of the judiciary, a solicitor in practice, a barrister in chambers or a member of the public this conference has something to deliver to you all, and should not be missed.
